NAM 2018 State of Manufacturing Tour
Every year, the National Association of Manufacturers’ (NAM) State of Manufacturing Tour builds a national media and digital spotlight to showcase modern manufacturing in America—we reached 50 million people in 2017. The spotlight re-emerges one week from today, on February 12, when our eight-day and eight-state 2018 tour kicks off.
NAM 2018 State of Manufacturing Tour
The tour starts with NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons at Automation Alley in Troy, Michigan, with the NAM’s State of Manufacturing Address. And, in partnership with the NAM's Manufacturing Institute and our leading state manufacturing association partners, we’ll have parent meetings, manufacturing headquarters and site tours, employee town halls, Facebook Live forums and interviews, visits to technical and community colleges, national and local broadcasts and more opportunities to bring to life the real story of what’s achievable in modern manufacturing. Whether you’re on the tour schedule or not, you can join—and elevate your story into—this national show-and-tell about our industry. Share your social media content with the hashtag #MFGTour2018 from February 12 to February 22—to help us reinforce these four key themes:
Manufacturers are confident about the future. Blue and white becomes new.
Share stories of why manufacturers are optimistic—from actions taken in response to tax reform, such as employee bonuses and wage increases, to any new investments in U.S. manufacturing. Share how modern manufacturing is creating “new collar” jobs, including examples of how teammates are finding the reward and benefit of high-skilled jobs where everyone is solving problems.
#CreatorsWanted in modern manufacturing. Modern manufacturing is about people.
On the shop floor and beyond, diverse manufacturing roles give people the chance to design, work in teams and create the future. Share initiatives to inspire STEM interest, recruiting content, job openings and job fair information. Modern manufacturing is seen in the faces of the men and women across the country. Share teammate profiles, contributions to the community, sustainability leadership and more of the story of how manufacturers help people lead better lives.
